Phi Phi Island

The second largest island in Thailand after Phuket. It and the dozens of smaller islands surrounding it are part of a National Park and quite beautiful. Ko Chang has become very popular in recent years but deserted beaches can still be found, and many of the surrounding tiny island have no human habitation at all. If you want to stay on them you'll need to carry a tent, food, water, and other necessities.
The middle of the island is mountainous jungle and a rewarding area to trek for experienced hikers. In the rainy season the clouds and mists which shroud the mountains are very beautiful
    TRAVEL
Song Thaews ( pick-ups) leave the Trat Bus Station to Laem Ngop pier about an hour before each ferry boat to the island is due to depart.
Boats depart at 7 a.m,. 1 p.m., and 4 p.m. Return boats run at 10 a.m. and noon.

OTHER ISLANDS.
South of Ko Chang the many islands that stretch out into the Gulf are good for getting away from everything. Except during the monsoon season, boats to these islands leave regularly from Laem Ngop, Dan Kaew (five km from Trat town), and from the Trat river about one km from Trat town.
Ason Ko Chang, the western-facing beaches on these other islands are invariably the nicest.
